Patterns, Texture & Paint

Continuing the exploration of patterns and texture, I started a project that will be a 3 part process to complete.  I began with a blank canvas, a container of joint compound and a few random “tools” to play with.  I just messed around with applying the joint compound for texture and experimenting with different designs.  It was similar to using frosting!

This is what emerged.   The decorations at the bottom are 3 flat metal designs inserted into the joint compound.

The next step is to add a Fluer de Lis design in the square space but will use a different media to add dimension.
